Learn the three important steps to selecting the best block for your home!
When selecting a design, Dixon Homes Cairns invites you to explore the Dixon Homes national website, which has over 1,500 designs.
Browse the national Dixon Homes website for designs or contact one of our consultants who will be able to assist you over the phone before your first consultation meeting. If you prefer help with design selection, you can choose a design during your first meeting. Choose a maximum of 1-3 designs, screenshot, print, or write down the design name.
You can choose from narrow lot designs, 2-storey designs, a butler’s pantry, an alfresco/patio, and many more refinements to help you find a design you will love. We check that the type of house you want to build will work on the land, along with adequate room for a pool and comfortable vehicle access if desired. The plans come in a variety of sizes and feature options. When you meet with your Dixon Homes Cairns consultant, they will discuss the price ranges and inclusion options and customise the house design to suit your taste and budget.

If you have purchased your land, please email your consultant your land information first, so they can prepare for your meeting.
The land information we require will consist of: Lot number, address, estate, and any other information you may have on the block. SP plans or Disclosure plans if they are new blocks.
It’s always helpful to bring a copy of all the information, including land plans and plan names, to the meeting with you.
Bring in your design names or plan concepts so we can consider how the design works with your block, provide you with feedback on the plan you choose, and determine if there is a more suitable design for you if anything changes during discovery. If you haven’t selected a house design, don't worry, many of our clients prefer to be guided by our experienced Dixon Homes Cairns consultants. Your consultant will consider all aspects of the land to create the look and feel for your lifestyle and wish list.
Our consultant will create a site plan to check how your home sits on your land and any design modifications. We carry out detailed land inspections on your behalf to make sure there are no surprises during the building process.

If you haven’t chosen a block of land yet, we can calculate a rough house price to help you estimate your land budget and ensure your goal is achievable.
Dixon Homes Cairns will provide you with a customised preliminary estimate of the cost of your home, which is a detailed document that identifies modifications to your design and home inclusions. If your design modifications are more complicated, e.g., a custom design, we may take a little longer, and a second catch-up may be required.

Once satisfied with your Dixon Homes Cairns plan choice and preliminary extension, you pay your ‘initial deposit’, and we will start your file in our database.

Once Dixon Homes Cairns start your construction file, you will gain access to the Dixon Online 24/7 Client C3S System, where you can log in to access and download your plans and contract documents online at any time.
The online system provides progress information that our supervisors, suppliers, and subcontractors have scheduled to complete for your home.
